Industrialization of fish farming

With the advancement of science and technology, the new technology of industrialized fish farming is continuously developing. They are playing an increasingly important role in increasing the output of aquatic products, reducing energy consumption and saving water resources.

Closed circulating aquaculture system. Due to the shortage of water resources in the world, some developed countries are paying more and more attention to the development of closed-cycle aquaculture equipment to further improve water treatment technologies and reduce daily water exchange.

Improve aerobic technology. Countries such as Denmark and Germany have designed and built aquaculture equipment that uses liquid oxygen to raise oxygen in fish ponds and biofilters, which has greatly increased fish production per unit surface. U.S. and Sweden and other countries have developed pressure oscillation absorption oxygen generators for the direct production of oxygen enriched from 85% to 95% for fish culture.

There has been significant progress in water treatment. Freshwater fishery wastewater treatment is still an important issue in the development of industrialized fish farming technologies. Closed biofilters, biological rotors plus triangular filters, and special biological rotors plus active contaminated mud have been developed in the late 1980s. Other water treatment equipments have strong vitality due to their small footprint and good treatment effect.

Heat pumps have gained popularity. For industrialized fish farming, controlling the temperature is an important step. In the case of changing the water volume daily from 8% to 10%, the heating fee is a considerable figure. The heat pump is a new type of energy-saving temperature control device, which can save about 50% energy than conventional temperature control devices.

Monitoring technology is further improved. Advanced industrialized fish farming equipment uses computer-controlled sensing devices to collect and analyze relevant water quality data (such as pH, oxygen content, water temperature, water level, and flow velocity) and to use appropriate alarm and emergency rescue systems. Some farms use television cameras to scan the water surface to obtain information on fish consumption or use computers to arrange the best amount of feed. In addition, the important water quality data, such as ammonia nitrogen content and nitrite content, were quickly determined and the water quality was monitored more effectively.
