Eruption of Pox virus in parts of Canada

In the recent outbreak of the Lee pox virus in Niagara, Canada, the Canadian CFIA has taken appropriate control measures to prevent the spread of the virus to protect the fruit trees and industry.

Canada expanded the scope of the controlled area on April 8th and expanded outwards by 800 meters according to international standards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency stated that it is forbidden to remove diseased wood and seedlings in the controlled areas and will continue to monitor the area to prevent the spread of the virus.

Plum pox virus was found in Nova Scotia and Ontario, Canada in 2000, and it mainly infects stone fruits such as peaches, plums and apricots.
