Recently, the US Digital Healthcare Entrepreneur Accelerator StartUp Health released the global digital medical investment report for the first half of 2018.
According to the report, global digital medical investment continued to grow in the first half of 2018, completing a total of 414 transactions, an increase of 20% over the same period last year.
The report also predicts that digital healthcare investment is expected to double this year compared to last year due to various factors such as the overall growth potential of the market and increased confidence in the industry.

In terms of the number of investments, investment transactions in the digital medical sector continued to grow in 2018, with 414 transactions completed in the first half of the year, compared with 344 in the same period last year, an increase of 20%. In terms of transaction volume, digital medical companies raised a total of $3.1 billion in the first half of this year, compared with $3.8 billion in the same period last year. If the $914 million financing completed by the cancer testing company Grail in the first half of last year is abandoned, the first half of this year will also be the most half of the financing.
From the financing stage, in the first half of the year, the seed round and the A round of financing accounted for nearly 60%. Compared with the past few years, the proportion of financing in the early stages has dropped significantly.

The top ten companies with the most financing in the first half of the year raised a total of $1.58 billion. These companies are highly diverse, covering eight areas of biometrics, clinical workflow, health insurance, medical research, population health, education, patient management, and industry programs.
Grail, the cancer testing company, raised another $300 million in the first half of this year, making it the most financed company. China's medical knowledge sharing platform, Clove Garden, completed a $100 million Series D financing and squeezed into the TOP10 list.
From the perspective of the city where the financing company is located, London has topped the list with 11 transactions, followed by Bangalore (10 in India) and Beijing (9 in).
In China, Beijing remains the center of digital healthcare technology , accounting for 40% of China's digital healthcare investment in the past five years. It is worth noting that cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou have also begun to emerge.
In the first half of the year, new digital medical innovation centers were emerging around the world. Among the top ten investments in the world except the United States, Toronto-based healthcare software company PointClickCare ranked first with $146 million in financing; Benevolent AI ($115 million), an artificial intelligence-based new drug development company based in London, UK.
