Winter meat pigeons

In winter, although the meat pigeon has strong cold resistance, the low temperature has a great influence on the growth and health of the pigeon. Therefore, doing a good job of winter feeding management is the key to the development of meat pigeon production.

First, keep warm

One is to block the cracks and holes in the loft walls so that the pigeons do not get caught in the cold wind. The second is to seal the front and back windows with plastic film. In the evening, hang the curtains outside the window and hang the curtains on the doors so that the temperature inside the house can be increased. The third is to keep the loft temperature in the harsh winter. Generally, when the loft temperature is above 5°C, the breeder can lay eggs, hatch and breed pigeons as usual. If the temperature is lower than 3°C, additional heating facilities should be added.

Second, improve nutrition

1. Variety of feed types, nutrition should be comprehensive. It is necessary to meet the nutritional needs of the breeding pigeons and also to meet the nutritional needs of the young pigeons' growth and development. The diet of a typical breeder should contain 11.7 to 13.4 MJ/kg of metabolic energy and 15% to 17% of crude protein. Feed formulation: 45% corn, 25% soybean meal, 10% of pellets, sorghum, and legumes, 10-15 grams of poultry multivitamin per 50 kg of feed, 2 to 3 times daily feeding, and meat pigeons after eating Free drinking water.

2. For the mineral feed. Recipe: 30% loess, 25% fine sand, 30% shellfish powder, 5% bone meal, hydrated lime, and salt, allowing the pigeons to eat freely.

Third, strengthen management

1. Keep cleaning the loft, droppings and feathers in the cage. Frequently clear pigeon nest droppings from the nest to prevent young pigeons from getting sick due to fecal contamination.

2. Keep the air in your home fresh. Open the doors and windows according to the weather for ventilation.

Fourth, prevent diseases

1. The lofts and eating utensils should be regularly sterilized with 5% of the Soviet children, 3% of potassium permanganate, or 100% poison (according to instructions).

2. The temperature difference between day and night in winter, pigeons susceptible to colds, should take oxytetracycline, paracetamol, each serving 1/2, 1/4, pigeons halved, twice daily, and even served 3 to 5 days .

3. Treatment of Mycoplasma gonorrhoeae The use of erythromycin 0.02% and tylosin 0.08% for drinking water for 3 to 5 days.

4. Diseased pigeons should be kept in isolation and treated promptly.

Anti-Aging Superfood - Goji berries are considered the world's most powerful anti-aging food. They're rated #1 on the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale, which measures the antioxidant level of foods. Antioxidants fight free radical damage associated with diseases and premature aging. Dried goji berries contain 3 times the antioxidants of pomegranates!

Protect Eyesight - Goji berries contain two key nutrients that support vision: lutein and zeaxanthin. Studies show that consuming high amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin lowers the risk for developing age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and other eye diseases.

Promote Skin Health - The vitamins in dried goji berries can give your skin a healthy, youthful glow. The rich content of vitamin A, vitamin C and zinc naturally occurring in goji berries helps to improve skin tone and texture. Research suggests that vitamin C and zinc act as antioxidants to lessen the harmful effects of UV radiation on the skin.

Boosts Immune System - Goji berries contain even more vitamin C per ounce than oranges. They are also high in the trace element selenium, which fights bacterial and viral infections. Adding a small handful of dried goji berries to hot teas or soups isn`t a bad idea when the cold and flu season hits.

Good Source of Amino Acids - Goji berries contain 18 amino acids, including all eight essential amino acids. Our bodies use this combination of amino acids to build the proteins we need. Since we cannot synthesize essential amino acids from scratch, we must obtain them through our diet.

Liver & Kidney Benefits - A compound found in goji berries called betaine, is used by the liver to produce choline. Choline supports the liver and kidneys by helping them expel toxins and waste from the body.
