High-yielding cultivation techniques of pasture mixed

On January 17, the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Assistance Project, completed by Professor Cui Guowen of Northeast Agricultural University, was approved by experts from Heilongjiang Science and Technology Department. Experts unanimously determined that the project has successfully reached the international advanced level. The project demonstrated for the first time that the multiple cropping of Tibet forage could increase the yield of hay by 24.73% compared to the single species. At the same time, it also innovatively designed a soil repressor suitable for the characteristics of Tibet and filled in the blank of the special soil repressor after sowing. In the period from 2008 to 2010, the project has promoted more than 2,500 hectares of pasture plantation in Tibet, accumulating 14.753 million yuan for herdsmen.

The project was led by Professor Cui Guowen, a leader in grassland science at Northeast Agricultural University. They were the second and third science and technology aid projects in Heilongjiang Province. This is the second phase of the project (2008-2010).

Cui Guowen’s team went deep into Tibet for six consecutive years, bringing green to Shigatse, a region with severe desertification, and selected three main pasture varieties suitable for local planting and promotion from 24 experimental varieties, summarizing advanced high-yielding cultivation techniques for mixed pasture in Tibet. Creatively determined the mixed sowing ratio and sowing amount of high-yield cultivation of legume forage grasses and grasses in Tibet, so as to achieve the best yield, nutritional value and planting efficiency of forage grasses.

The project team combined with the soil characteristics of the Tibet region and existing problems in the traditional planting methods, innovatively designed and manufactured a special soil repressor, improved forage production, saved seed resources, changed the local traditional planting methods, and filled up the local planting Special soil roller blank.

The project team also conducted research on pasture multiple cropping technology. After experimental comparison, it was demonstrated for the first time that the use of its abundant lighting resources in the Tibet region had great potential for the development of two-year-old annual pastures. Replanting could increase the yield of hay by 24.73% compared to single crops.
