Currently overwintering cucumbers have entered the stage of melon growth. According to the author's observations in recent years and years of research, there are two kinds of “diseases†that are most easily overlooked by vegetable farmers. One is salt damage, and the other is soil pH barriers. These two "big illnesses" that do not appear to be ill have seriously affected the yield of cucumbers.
First, salt damage
Symptoms: The cucumber growing in the soil in the greenhouse showed weak growth of the plants, the leaves became smaller, the internodes became longer, and the edges of the leaves became chlorotic, forming the Phnom Penh leaves, sometimes accompanied by sharp-edged melons. Observing the surface of the soil, the soil without salt accumulation had a rapid water infiltration rate. After the accumulation of salt, the infiltration was difficult. There was a layer of green moss or red moss on the surface of the soil with serious salt accumulation. The first cause of salt accumulation is continuous cropping, and the second is long-term excessive application of high nitrogen and potassium chemical fertilizers.
Solution: Temporarily stop or reduce the use of high-nitrogen and potassium fertilization, and apply 5 to 10 kg of “Waldilong†prion protein bio-fertilizer 1 to 2 times per mu. This fertilizer uses prion protein as a microbial carrier. Into the soil can activate the long-term fixed phosphorus and potassium elements, and can degrade the soil of sodium ions and other harmful metal ions. Through feedback from the application of the vegetable farmers in production, we learned that the “Waldilong†protein biofertilizer can quickly root the plants, significantly reduce soil salt damage, and can play a role of rapid growth and rejuvenation. . Continuous use of 2 to 3 times of "Waldilong" pupa protein bio-fertilizer, soil salt accumulation symptoms and effects change significantly.
Second, the soil pH barriers
Symptoms: The occurrence of soil acidity and alkalinity disorders, cucumbers first showed that the top leaves began to wilt, leaf dead, growth point shrinkage, development was blocked. The suitable soil pH value for normal cucumber development is 6.2-6.5, and the soil is prone to acidity-alkalinity disorders due to over-fertilization and continuous cropping.
Solution: With the water flushing "magic 6-7" 4 to 5 kg per mu, and "Waldilong" pupa protein biofungus mixed together at the same time flushing effect is better. "Magic 6-7" can adjust the acidity or partial alkali soil to neutral or slightly acidic, so that the cucumber grows in a suitable soil environment.
When I went to the countryside to investigate, I found that most farmers only paid attention to the prevention and control of fungi and bacterial diseases, but neglected the improvement and maintenance of the soil. When cucumbers had some abnormalities or physiological phenomena, they could not be diagnosed scientifically, let alone symptomatic use. Fertilizers were used. Therefore, the author here puts forward the two “catastrophes†that do not seem to be a disease. It is expected that they will attract the attention of a large number of vegetable farmers.
