Summer breeding and management of meat geese

Cooling and heatstroke

Breeding density of 6 to 7 per square meter is appropriate, the goose house temperature does not exceed 26 °C. Keep ventilated and breathable. Spread 1 cm thick fine sand on the ground. Outdoor activities venues take shelter shade. When the weather is hot, spray cool water on the ground around the goose house and spray cold mist on the goose.

Intensive breeding goslings

One day after hatching, goslings are bred with hand-cut fresh leaves (preferably lettuce leaves) on their hands, and most gooses can compete to eat. After eating, first adjust the drinking water, and then evenly sprinkle the leaves on the plastic cloth and let them feed every two hours or so. After a day and a half or two days, the goose can eat 70% of the full time, and then sprinkle rice or crisp rice. From the 3rd day, the feed was fed to the chute. Feed 4 to 5 times a day. The last time it was arranged at about 10:00.

6 to 10 days old goslings were fed 6 to 8 times a day, including 2 feedings at night. Rice accounts for 20%~30% in the diet; green feed accounts for 70%~80%.

From 1 day old to 20 days old, the rice was gradually changed to broken rice and fed 6 times a day, in which feed 2 times at night and grazing was conducted properly during the day.

From the age of 21 days to 30 days, the cracked wheat grains were properly fed and gradually transferred to the soaked wheat grains, and they were fed nearly dry at the age of 30 days, and the grazing time was prolonged. Each time the amount of feed is appropriate to eat 90% full, while at the same time try to let goslings drink more water.

Combination of husbandry and husbandry

After the geese are 30 days old and before the wing feathers grow, they can make full use of the time when the temperature in the morning and the evening of the summer is low, choose the grassland where the grass quality is good and the amount of grass is enough, and grazing; otherwise, the geese should be bred appropriately and feed the bran, rice, corn, etc. In particular, in the back of the meat goose, abdominal fluff began to fall for new feathers, but also pay attention to feed high-quality fine material (barley, wheat, corn, etc.), so as not to cause moulting, affecting growth and development. It is usually supplemented 2 times or 3 times a day, and it is advisable to eat 80% sage each time.

Fertilizer timely

After the main wings of the geese grow, they begin to fatten. The fattening period is suitable for breeding, and the feed is mainly corn, rice, wheat, bran, and the like, and is appropriately matched with protein feed and roughage.

Fertilizer reference formula

40% of corn, 15% of rice, 19% of wheat bran, 10% of rice bran, 11% of vegetable bran, 3.7% of fish meal, 1% of bone meal, and 0.3% of salt. The feed should be crushed, fed with water and mixed into dry and wet form, and fed 4 times to 5 times a day. One feed at night to allow the goose to fully feed and drink enough water. Clean the shed daily, clean the trough and sink, and let the geese run once a day for about half an hour. After 15 days to 20 days, fattening is usually done. The plump muscles in the hands are full, and the back fat is thickened and can be sold.

Epidemic prevention

For hatchling goslings, 0.02 ml of antiserum vaccine was injected into each muscle to prevent geese. Around 30 days of age, 1.5 ml of avian cholera vaccine was injected into each muscle. Feeding utensils are sterilized with 5% fresh lime water every 3 days to 5 days. Goose sheds and event sites are sterilized once every 7 days to 10 days with 1% bleach solution.
