Water pump installation and troubleshooting knowledge

At present, it is the critical period for spring planting and seeding. Crops are beginning to turn green. Some areas have severe drought. Pumps play a huge role. Here are some of the knowledge about pump installation and troubleshooting:

1. Water pump installation points

The installation position of the water pump should meet the requirements for allowing the vacuum height to be sucked up. The foundation must be level and stable to ensure that the rotation direction of the power machine is consistent with the rotation direction of the water pump. When the water pump and power machine are connected by shafts, they must ensure that the shafts are in the same straight line to prevent vibration and single-sided wear of the bearings when the unit is running. If the tape drive is used, the axes should be parallel to each other and the tape wheels should be aligned. If there are multiple units in the same machine room, there should be a distance of more than 800 mm between the unit and the unit and between the unit and the wall. The suction pipe of the pump must be sealed well, and the elbow and gate valve should be reduced as much as possible. The air should be exhausted when the water is filled. During the operation, the air should not accumulate in the pipe. It is required that the suction pipe be slightly inclined and connected to the water inlet of the pump, and the water inlet should have certain The depth of flooding. The reserved hole on the basis of the pump should be poured according to the size of the pump.

2. Pump Common Fault Analysis and Treatment

Different types of pumps have different types of faults, but in summary, they have the following 5 common features.

(1) Insufficient flow.

Causes: The impact of the lack of water pump flow is mostly leaky suction pipe, bottom valve leakage; water inlet block; bottom valve into the water depth; pump speed is too low; seal ring or impeller wear is too large;

Treatment method: check the suction pipe and the bottom valve to block the air leakage source; clean the sludge or plugging material at the water inlet; the water depth of the bottom valve must be greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the water inlet pipe, increase the water depth of the bottom valve; check the power supply voltage, Increase the speed of the pump, replace the seal ring or impeller, lower the installation position of the pump, or replace the high-head pump.

(2) The power consumption is too large.

Cause: The pump speed is too high; the water pump spindle is bent or the pump spindle is not concentric or parallel to the motor spindle; the pump head is not suitable for use; the pump suctions sediment or has blockages; the motor ball bearing is damaged.

Processing method: check the circuit voltage, reduce the pump speed; correct the pump spindle or adjust the relative position of the pump and the motor; select the appropriate pump; clean sediment or plug; replace the motor ball bearing.

(3) The pump body vibrates or generates noise.

Causes: The pump is not installed properly or the pump is installed too high; the ball bearings of the motor are damaged; the spindle of the pump is bent or misaligned with the motor shaft, and is not parallel.

Treatment method: Install the water pump or reduce the installation height of the water pump; replace the motor ball bearing; correct the curved water pump spindle or adjust the relative position of the water pump and the motor.

(4) Overheated drive shaft or motor bearings.

Cause: Lack of lubricant or broken bearings.

Treatment method: Fill the oil or replace the bearing.

(5) The pump does not discharge water.

Cause: The pump body and suction pipe are not filled with water; the dynamic water level is lower than the water pump filter pipe; the suction pipe is broken.

Treatment method: Exclude bottom valve fault, fill the water diversion; reduce the installation position of the water pump, make the water pipe under the dynamic water level, or raise the water pipe and wait for the water level to pump water; repair or replace the suction pipe.
