Breeding of wild boar and domestic pigs has improved

Cheng Zexin, an expert in breeding at the Yangtze University, said that with the improvement of the hybrid technology of wild boars, delicious hybrid boars are expected to end up on the dinner table.
Since 2001, Cheng Zexin has begun research on the matching techniques of wild boar and domestic pig crossbreeding at the experimental base, and explored the law of hybridization and affinity between wild boar and Huchuan mountain hog. Through research, Cheng Zexin found that the domestic wild boar crossbreeding system not only overcomes the shortcomings of low fertility and slow growth of wild boars, but also overcomes the shortcomings of poor pork quality and low disease resistance of modern pigs.
The hybrid wild boar has the characteristics of crisp meat, high lean meat ratio and rich nutrition. The content of linoleic acid in the intermuscular fat is 17.36%, which is twice that of ordinary domestic pigs. Through artificial rearing, the wild boar can grow normally, and can be estrus normally and bred all year round. It can produce two litters per year, the number of litters can reach 8-9, and 7.5 pigs can survive; wild boar and domestic pig can be normal. Affinity breeding, up to 10-12 litter size.
At present, the Yangtze University is working with the Nature Special Boar Breeding Center of Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province to establish a standardized breeding demonstration base and bring more hybrid wild boars to the market and popularize the people's table. It is understood that a small amount of hybrid wild boar has entered the market, the price per kilogram up to 30-40 yuan.
