A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on the 28th by Canadian medical researchers showed that high-dose vitamin B treatment of diabetic patients with complications of renal impairment accelerates kidney failure.
AFP quoted researchers as saying that at this stage, about 40% of American diabetic patients are accompanied by symptoms of impaired kidney function, so finding new treatments has become a top priority.
Through comparison experiments, vitamin B therapy is closely related to renal dysfunction in diabetic patients. In the diabetic patients receiving vitamin B treatment, the filtering function of the kidneys accelerated the decline, and the risk of heart disease and stroke was higher than that of those who did not receive vitamin B therapy.
The study was conducted by Andrew Haus, a researcher at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and J. David Spence, of the Roberts Institute in London, Ontario, USA. The study period was from May 2001 to 2007. In the month, the study population was 238 patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in Canada. Meditech Medical Network
