How do mobile medical products do a "user portrait"?

The general practice of how to get users to land (UCD) is to build a "user portrait." I just gotten to work at a company about product assistants, and I was almost familiar with my products and the company's business for the first week or two. In the familiar process, the biggest problem with the product was the ambiguity of product positioning.

This kind of ambiguity makes the strategy layer lack of driving force, which makes us very inefficient when iterating products (mainly some bugs in the optimization program, lack of trial and error points like Mo Mo, so we look somewhat ordinary ). At that time, I was still at the level of a newborn calf, lacking project experience, and all the decisions were basically based on books that were digested in the early stage. Finally, I took the courage to suggest to the boss whether we can re-depict the user's portrait, and then there is no more.

Later, when I was planning a product for a friend, I tried to apply this method, but in the process of using it, I found that building a user portrait did not seem to bring any essential changes to my design.

First principle thinking about user portrait

One day I heard Professor Luo Zhenyu mention the concept of "first principle" thinking. Suddenly I suddenly realized that the original "user image construction" that I used before was too early to fall into the appearance of the method, not to play its true essence, so it would be confusing why "user image construction" did not bring changes to the program. So what is the first principle of "user image construction"?

Through conceptual deconstruction and related project thinking, I deconstructed the first principle of "user image construction" into a three-step process: 1) clarify the true Who of the product; 2) explore the motivation of product use based on Who (What /why); 3) How do they achieve their motivation through the product (How).

Below we will use mobile medical as an example to explain the first principle of user portrait.
