Five Do not Raise Rabbits for Farmers

Do not partial feed concentrates. Some farmers mistakenly believe that only when they feed more concentrates, rabbits grow faster. Some even feed concentrates only three times a day, causing rabbits to have enteritis and die of severe diarrhea. The reason is that excess concentrate is decomposed in the cecum and fermented into a large amount of organic acids, destroying the normal weak alkaline environment of the microorganisms and causing imbalance of the ecological balance of the flora. Therefore, raising rabbits should add a certain percentage of concentrate according to the nutritional standards, but the fiber roughage must not be lacking.

Do not replace grain feed with whole grains. Feeding rabbits with pelleted feeds works well, but pelleted feeds are not yet widely available in rural areas. Therefore, some farmers use whole grains instead of pellets. This feeding method is not scientific, and whole grain feeds are not available. Chewing into the gastrointestinal tract, reducing the contact area with the digestive fluid, so that it can not be completely digested and absorbed into the cecum, and abnormal fermentation in the cecum, so that harmful bacteria produce toxins, resulting in diarrhea or enteritis. Therefore, the whole grain cannot be directly fed to the rabbit instead of the pellet feed. The grain should be crushed or ground, and the rabbit should be stirred and fed with a certain proportion of the roughage.

Do not use any antibiotics. Some farmers have anti-rabbit disease, and often add terramycin, sclerotin, gentamycin and other antibacterial drugs to the feed. This practice is harmful to rabbits and is unscientific. Rabbits are herbivores, and the drugs they eat often kill all kinds of beneficial microorganisms in the intestine. At the same time, they will make Salmonella more resistant. Over time, if the rabbit becomes ill, it will cause difficulties in its treatment.

Do not freeze the vaccine. Some people often store the purchased vaccine in the refrigerator or in the freezer. Such stored vaccines often lose their medicinal value. The correct approach is to buy the returned seedlings, not to open the packaging, or to store in a refrigerator at 4-8°C or Save under normal temperature and shading conditions.

Do not use drugs. At present, in rural areas, many rabbit farmers still use the old method to treat rabbits. They use soap to wash the affected area, and then scrub it with dipterex solution. As everyone knows, this practice is very dangerous to rabbits, extremely unsafe. Because the soap is alkaline, it will produce highly toxic substances in the liquid phase of trichlorfon, which can easily cause rabbit poisoning. The correct method is: after washing the affected area with soap and water, rinse with water, wipe dry with a cloth, and then apply trichlorfon liquid.
