The control of banana black belt like beetle pests

Also known as the banana pseudopod weevil, and the banana weevil are both coleopteran pests. The adult form is similar to that of a banana weevil, but the body grows slightly larger than the banana weevil. Its back is reddish-brown or blackish-brown and shiny. There are black vertical stripes on both sides of the front and back sides.

It is widely distributed in various banana producing areas in South China. In South China, 4 to 5 generations can occur each year, overlapping from generation to generation, and from May to July, the population density of the population is the largest and the damage is most serious. Winters can be overwintering in various insect states, but larvae are more winters. Adults like to live in the more humid pseudo-stem, prefer nighttime activities, and have a feign death. Adults spawn in the spaces in the superficial leaf sheath tissue, and egg spaces are often filled with transparent gum. The surface of leaf sheaths at the spawning site usually showed tiny scars and water stains, followed by brown spots, and a small amount of gum spills on the surface. The larvae peck up and down in the pseudo-stem, up to the root, but there are more mid-upper parts of the pseudo-stem, which can also feed on the middle plate.

Prevention methods include:

1. Carry out guava quarantine to prevent the spread of banana weevil along with sucking shoots. It is best to use tube seedlings as planting material to eliminate the source of insects.

2. Qingyuan and manual killing. The garden should always clean the garden and keep it clean. Timely excavation of the old residual stems, old banana heads and circled bananas (that is, cut off dead leaves), can be taken 1 to 2 months before harvesting bananas once. Dry leaves and leaf sheaths that damage the insects should be buried or burned. Combine Clear Garden with Object A for manual killing.

3. Chemical control. 5-10 g of carbofuran were planted in the planting seed hole; when the larva population was large, 3% carbofuran was applied to the soil hole in the afternoon and 5 to 10 grams per plant; the insecticide was injected between the petiole of the endothelium and the dichlorvos emulsion 1000 times. The agent kills adults and larvae; a small amount of systemic insecticide such as tea bran or carbofuran is placed in the depression where the base of the petiole is connected to the pseudo stem.

4. Biological control. Grasshoppers are the natural enemies of banana weevil and can enter banana stalks to prey on their larvae and should be protected and utilized. Birds are stocked in the plantation and eaten by larvae and adults of banana weevil.
